About Bruce H. Walker

Bruce Walker retired in 1991 from the position of Manager, Optical Engineering at the Electro-Optical Division of Kollmorgen Corporation.
Prior to joining Kollmorgen in 1972, Mr. Walker had served on the Technical Staff of Diffraction Limited Inc., in Bedford, MA and had worked as an Optical Engineer and Lens Designer with General Electric Company for over 10 years. He was an Editorial Advisor to Laurin Publishing Company, for 30 years, making significant contributions to all of their publications. He founded Walker Associates in 1986 to expedite his work in the areas of technical writing and optics education. His years of diverse experience in the field of optics qualify him eminently to assist you in all aspects of your optical engineering and lens design requirements.

In addition to numerous technical papers, Mr. Walker is the author of Optical Engineering Fundamentals, 2nd Edition (TT82), an optics textbook published in 2009 and Optical Design for Visual Systems (TT45) which was published in November of 2000. Both textbooks are currently available from SPIE as a part of their Tutorial Text Series.

In recent years Walker Associates has specialized in the design of high resolution optical designs for:
Visual systems and military sights, Submarine periscope visual, video, digital photo and night vision
systems, along with state-of-the-art industrial and medical borescope designs.
